Biography

Jay Weisman is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) and the founder of Legacy Philanthropy Group. Jay brings a unique perspective to his work, having spent many years working with donors, nonprofits, foundations, and corporate giving programs throughout the United States. His clients have ranged from some of America’s largest and most prestigious giving organizations such as The J. Paul Getty Trust, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, The Carnegie Corporation and Citibank, to much smaller private, family and community foundations with staff as few as one person. Jay has also served on a number of nonprofit boards. He is a former Executive Board Committee Member and Philanthropy Committee Chairman with the American Red Cross, New Jersey Region. He currently serves on the national board and chairs the Webinar Committee for the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy. Jay is also a member of the Association of Nonprofit Specialists, and the NJ Center for Non-Profits. Jay has lectured and spoken at the University of Wisconsin, the University of Delaware, the University of San Diego, and Fairleigh Dickinson University as well as at venues such as the Foundation Center in New York City.
