Week 1 Hamstrings

by Fitness Knocking®

Even mild back pain could be caused by this.

Did you know your lower back pain might be caused by tight hamstrings? You might be thinking “I don’t need to worry about my hamstrings, I’m not an athlete”.   While you may not be an athlete, everyone needs strong and flexible hamstrings.  They help you perform simple activities like walking up stairs or getting up from a chair. Your hamstrings are made up of muscles on the back of your leg.  They are connected to your pelvic bones, hips, and knees. If you sit a lot, perhaps for work, your hamstrings may be weak or tight, which can contribute to lower back pain, poor posture, and even sciatica. If you are more active or participate in sports or vigorous exercise, you risk injury if your hamstrings are not flexible and strong. Stretching your hamstrings not only increases their flexibility, but also blood flow.  You can improve your posture, reduce back and knee pain, gain ease in walking, lifting, and bending over.  You may even have greater overall energy! Who knew hamstrings were so important?

I want to share this quick video showing you how to gain flexibility and strength through a simple exercise you can do almost anywhere.
