“WHAT YOU SURROUND YOURSELF WITH BECOMES YOUR REALITY.”-MDR

Week 5 of the Weight Loss Challenge, and I continue my theme of how to surround yourself with Vastu techniques for successful weight loss!

What is the function of a bathroom?

From the name, we can see it is a room in which we bathe. Bathe away the stresses of the day. It is a room where we wash our bodies, and of course, process our bodies natural function of waste.

Obviously, the toilet is situated in a bathroom, and should be located in a particular part of the house that moves waste out quickly.

Bathrooms can support our weight loss challenge by understanding their purpose!

Here are some great Vastu bathroom tips that keep us healthy and fit in both body and mind:

  1. Positioning of bathrooms in a home should be in the Northwest if possible. South and West are also acceptable. These directional zones relate to the elements of air and fire in our sensory experience of life.

Air is related to movement which allows the toilet waste to move out more quickly. Fire is related to transformation which allows us to transform our physical processes and support better digestion. Proper bowel movement is always a plus when losing weight, and of course, as a natural process of our bodies to staying healthy!

If bathrooms are situated in other directions of the home, they can cause mental tension and stress. Toilets in the North-East and South-West of home can cause disturbances to our mind-body complex due to the association of these directions to the water and earth elements respectively, which can cause a lack of fluidity and stability in our lives.

  1. Using light colors in the bathroom can stimulate purity and cleanliness, not only of the body, but of the mind, and thus create a more positive outlook.

  1. Just keeping the bathroom door closed can help to prevent the negative energies from leaking out to other areas of the house. Bathrooms emit low frequency vibrations, and we do not want that flowing through to other areas of our homes.

  1. A toilet should not share a wall with a bed, mediation room or kitchen. The energetics associated with a toilet create a negative impact on our sleep, relaxation and cooking activities.

  1. When possible, place mirrors to the North, North-East or East, as these directions bring in the most positive outlooks on life due to the nature of their directions. Who wouldn’t want that when we are looking at our bodies in a mirror?!  Our self-image can use all the support it can get! Positive self-image is a key component to weight-loss and healthy living.

  1. As for the elements in the bathroom, place them as follows in the space to support the natural functions of your body.

Situate them as follows: Place a water bowl, seashells or flowers in the Northeast for fluidity and cleanliness; a candle in the Southeast of the bathroom to support the natural transformative function; a plant in the Southwest for stability and grounding of our intentions around health and fitness; in the Northwest, incense is ideal to support movement and activity.

Always, always, always!! Keep the bathroom clutter free and smelling fresh to support the final element of Vastu which is the space element.

Starting our days with purity, cleanliness, and freshness as we prepare our body and mind in our bathroom spaces brings us closer and closer to a healthy and fit lifestyle.
